Firstly BOOK BOOK BOOK. This place has it all. We stayed at the blue orchid for 8 days as a final finish to a month of travelling the philippines. Upon arrival we were welcomed by night staff John who was awsome and shown us to our room. The following morning, the front of house staff introduced themselves and explained all the excellent things to do including snorkling which is attached to the resort. The snorkling is unreal, the coral and marine life you can see along with the dive/snorkling equipment the resort provide! The rooms are well equipped with lovely balconys and air con! This is a dive resort and not a boutique hotel although it had elements of both, but as for the area and moalbol itself this is as good as you will find and it is always worth checking direct with the resort about availablity and what rooms are available for something special or to organise trips. The food alone its well priced and tasty and above all things hygenic, freshly made to order and good variety! The staff all round are lovely, and cannot do enough to make sure you are catered for and will actively go out of their way to ensure you have the best stay. Now onto the owners what can i say, micheal and naresa both engage and are always around ready to assist in anyway, micheal was great to have a chat with, great knowledge and such a nice fella you feel at ease with any issues/enquiries you may have and full of stories that you can spend hours listening too. Finally, id say overall the best place we stayed in the philippines and great quality for the money and finally a mention for the star-link wifi (which micheal loves) it is great to get signal considering it’s the Philippines. All the best Shaun and Cat!

We stayed at The Blue Orchid for a week in November 2023. This hotel is remote from Moalboal, which in itself is a 4 hour journey from Cebu city. But the location is very special, and I recommend you stay for a week or more. We started off with a double room, and the kids in a twin, but Michael, the congenial owner, upgraded us to the honeymoon suite which is enormous with its own lounge and balcony. Of course, an upgrade cannot be guaranteed, so I recommend you book this to begin with; it's well worth it. The beds are very comfortable and the staff clean and change everything daily. We ate two meals a day at the restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and varied. We only ate local dishes but I noted Western ones were available too. The bar is open until 4 am with a small range of beers and cocktails at (by Western standards) very reasonable prices. The snorkelling at the reef just off the hotel is excellent, lots of turtles and varieties of fish. The resort can take you to the Sardine Run as well which is a 20-minute boat ride. My twin 18-year old daughters completed their PADI open water dive qualification with Nathan, who was an excellent instructor. I dived for the first time in 15 years with Jeff, who was completely understanding of the reasons I hadn't dived in so long and helped me overcome my nerves at diving again. The staff at this resort cannot do enough for you. If you stay in Moalboal, don't look any further than The Blue Orchid. Thanks, Michael, for a great stay.

Some of the nicest accommodation food I had during my entire trip. We was graciously upgraded to the honeymoon suite after a casual chat with the friendly owner Micheal. Our room before the upgrade was amazing but the suite was unreal! All the staff there were super kind and friendly. You can tell the owner takes pride in this place, taking the time to meet each guest and have welcoming chats with them. The place as a whole is stunning, with lots of tropical plants and trees everywhere and a big swimming pool. It really made our entire trip! We also snorkelled with turtles on multiple occasions right outside the back of the resort which opens up to a coral reef just 30 meters offshore. We didn't scuba dive due to timing, but their facilities looked great! And its only a short walk down the coast to a more busy area with lovely beaches and bars.

Dave

Beautiful and cozy with so many trees and plants. There’s no sandy beach, but it’s right on the water and has its own private access to the reef. The laidback atmosphere feels like a very nice luxury hostel. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. You can easily book all the fun activities (diving, Kawasan Falls, osmena peak, whale sharks) directly through them. They offer PADI certifications at the property and even offer an intro diving course for people like myself who have never dived. We saw 6 sea turtles on our dive session on the thriving reef at the property! Food was good and affordable. Home cooked meals by local employees for $8-10 USD per plate. Good spirits/cocktails for very cheap.

Christopher

It's very quiet there. Hot water shower and great water pressure. Most of the rooms at the resort are direct sea views. The room was large and built with excellent craftsmanship quality inside the room. We ate at the restaurant many times. All the food was great tasting and at a fair price. We went scuba diving while we were there, the diving was fun and relaxing. Very green location, there were many shady spots and many large bushes and trees, a very relaxing atmosphere at the resort. The transportation booked by the resort for us to return to Cebu City was handled with ease, the car waited on us early on the day of our departure. The staff is great and very helpful and friendly.
